Inspiration: 3 Different Styles of Wedding Bouquets

With so many different styles of wedding bouquets available these days, the decision can be hard! Real flowers are not the only option, and the days of tacky fake flowers are long gone. Lots of brides are opting for a different style that they can keep forever as a long lasting momento to the day, while others are sticking steadfast to classic real flowers.

I've compiled a list of 3 of the most beautiful bouquets I've shot as a wedding photographer:

1. Silk

Silk artificial flowers are hugely popular, and it's not hard to see why. Using high quality silk flowers can create an amazing, unique bouquet that looks just as beautiful as real flowers, and most people won't even realise they're artificial. In fact, I once held silk flowers as a bridesmaid, and during the photoshoot, little bugs were flocking to my bouquet. Even they didn't seem to know the difference!

You can add jewels and bling to yours, like the bouquet below which adds a subtle touch of glam.

2. Wood

Another very unique option is a wooden bouquet. Sounds a bit crazy, but you'll be pleasantly surprised! For a wedding I shot recently in the Dandenong Ranges, outside of Melbourne, my bride used balsa wood to make her own bouquet. Balsa wood is a lightweight material that is slightly soft which makes it very versatile and easy to work with.

3. Real

Last but not least, the classic real flowers bouquet. These are always going to be beautiful, although you may be limited by what flowers are seasonal. Using these will mean your bouquet is fresher, and last longer throughout the day. Although that said, it may not always be the case as this can be affected by other elements too such as getting married on a particularly hot day. Either way, real flowers are always beautiful and probably always going to be the favourite of many brides to be! You will always have an amazing array of colours and choice, and it's hard to beat a bouquet of beautiful real roses.
