I love getting to photograph my couples on an engagement session before their wedding! It's a great way for the photographer and the couple to get to know each other a little better, while also getting a bit of experience in front of a camera which will make the wedding day a lot more comfortable. Engagement shoots are always relaxed and lots of fun, and this one was no exception!
Natasa and Boro were heaps of fun to shoot, and it was a super relaxed afternoon on Brighton Beach which is about 30 minutes south of Melbourne and 45 minutes north if you're coming from the Mornington Peninsula.
The afternoon was almost cancelled due to poor weather, but the forecast assured me the rain would not hit the Brighton area so I was determined to forge ahead! And when I arrived at the beach, I was not disappointed! The air had a strange balmy feel to it and looking over the bay in the distance, you could see the rain pouring over Melbourne city. The clouds were dark and stormy, yet sitting on the beach was mildly warm and sunny.
So in the end, it made for some great stormy shots with some beautiful light and contrast. The storm clouds mixed with the sunset light made the colours on the beach boxes just pop!
I was also very excited that this engagement shoot was featured on Polka Dot Bride, and you can see the post here: Natasa and Boro's Sunset Brighton Beach Engagement
